When I try to play suking grits on route 66 it ends up launching the original redneck rampage I don't know what is causing this does anyone know.
I know the same problem and wondered the same thing.

Did you try loading the original one? Probably not but just maybe Grits will open.

Yes I tried that one works fine and so does Rides Again. I wish I knew how to fix it.

If you can get past all the barriers they put up - this may be an issue for tech support. Too few people on this forum to get a large enough knowlege base IMO. I have no idea myself but it sound like a path error of some sort.
I also noticed the main file representing the expansion isn't present. But I have everything else require for it to work. I wonder if The Mad Hatter programmed it this way?
The only way I found to fix the problem is get Redneck Rampage Collection from GOG's website instead of GOG Galaxy. This will guarantee the expansion will work. I know I just attempted it to see if it would actually works. It does works, otherwise someone could find another way. This is my situation to this problem among FPS fans like myself.
