EDIT: I should have specified in the thread title, this is about Red Faction, the first.

I'm currently trying to figure out how to beat the stealth mission in the medical labs, and it's driving me mad. The first doctor tells me to fetch some organs somewhere, then a nurse in another room tells me to hurry up with them (I guess that means she gave them to me? :/) - and then what? I found another operating room (the one with Biohazard written on it, in the High Security area shortly before Administration) - is that where I'm supposed to take the organs? The doctors and nurses there are just standing around telling me to get lost though.

Am I missing something or is the quest broken? (I don't fully trust the game anymore after the bug with the high framerate blowing up the sub as soon as it collided with the water; fortunately I managed to lower the framerate by using Pure Faction's command console.)

I tried googling for a walkthrough, but most people seem to ignore the lab coat and stealth mission and just shoot their way through, and those who don't are very vague in describing how the organ quest works ...

I found this thread, perhaps could be useful:

Yes, I read that, too, but I found the instructions to be equally confusing as the game. Anyway, your quick answer encouraged me to try again and this time I managed to figure it out, so thanks all the same! :)

For anyone interested, here's a more detailed walkthrough of the quest:

*SPOILERS*

After the first doctor has mentioned the organs, you need to follow the nurse that walks out of the room (even though nobody told you her leaving is connected to what the doctor said - a simple "Nurse Betty will take you there" would have done wonders here). Then, when the receptionist nurse in the other room tells you to hurry with the organs, in fact what you need to do is to wait for a moment. She will then walk to the back of the room and add "They're over here". A usable hotspot will appear on a container on the cupboard where she stands and that's where you have to actually pick up the organs. Then you need to find to the OR with "Biohazard" written on it, in the High Security Area, after you have dropped down the shaft to the lower level. The doctor in the OR will tell you to bring a sample to "Cryo".

Unless I'm mistaken there are no direction to where "Cryo" is, and maybe not even a sign on the relevant door. But if you go back the way you sneaked in, just on the lower level, you will find it in the second hallway, the door on the right. The room has a ramp to the right side and an elevator on the left. The nurse up the ramp tells you to get the administrator's signature, so you have to head to Administration. If you followed the quest instructions so far, there will be less guards here (I think just one instead of three), and the receptionist will wave you through. If you approach the administrator's desk, the papers will be signed automatically, without a word from him. To get his keycard on the desk, apparantly you still have to shoot him, but if you use the silencer, noone outside the office will notice it. With the keycard you can now access the Restricted Area and take the elevator down. The guard near the elevator will recognise you, you can either shoot him or run past him. He won't sound an alarm, but once you're leaving the elevator downstairs, you have to drop the stealth approach anyway.

Contrary to what the poster in the link above said, the stealth approach is not completely useless, because it allows you to pass the medical labs without a true fight and only requires you to shoot one or two people instead of everyone. I also didn't think it was near impossible to fight the guards downstairs with the pistol on Medium difficulty, not at all. There are only 4 or 5 of them, they won't call for backup, and the ones defeated will drop new ammo. And last but not least, it's untrue that there is no reward for the stealth approach. If you take the signed papers back to the Cryo nurse and then use the elevator on the left, you will find four health packs in the cooling chamber above. You probably won't need them since you didn't have to fight anyone, but if you get hurt badly during the "near impossible" fight with the guards downstairs, you can come back here and heal yourself. What I'd agree with though is that the stealth approach is confusing, badly explained and can therefor be quite annoying.

*SPOILER END*
