Hi guys i am new here and my problem is that the RB3D crashes when i start campaign and don't play the intro movie also. The game runs perfectly in "Fly Now" mission. the problem presented either use glide emulator either not. Please help ....

For the intro movie you need a codec Windows doesn't come with anymore by default. Wulfc found it here:

As for the other problem ... hmm ... have you tried running the game as administrator? If not, try that. If that doesn't work, then next try setting compatibility mode to XP.

Have you added any mods to the game? Or is it just what you recieved from GOG?

When not trying Glide, have you also tried Widowed Mode?

With the instructions from crazy_dave the game works like a clock. I 'll try to run "Full Canvas Jacket" mod which i bought a couple of years before and i 'll keep inform you about my trying. Thanks

to confirm, was it running as administrator that solved it? If so, the reason underlying the crash is *probably* Windows UAC "protecting" the Programs File folder (stops programs from altering and saving files inside Program Files ... you know ... like a save file for a campaign :P) and older games are unused to having to do deal with such a modern Windows UAC.

Back up your stock install of the game. (Just make a copy of it)

There is a possible problem with Full Canvas Jacket and Win7/Vista 64bit (I don't know about Win8). The problem has to do with the Promised Land 1 terrain and objects graphics. PL1 can cause the game to crash when exiting a mission, which means your campaigns won't get saved. So, if the game crashes, you know what is up.

However there is not an easy fix unless you can take the vol files apart and remove all of the PL1 files out. and then put the files back together sans PL1.
