Not sure I understand why this is being sold? When there's still a lot of patching and modding that took the original RB3II/D to new levels or realism during the early 2000's, that are still available out on the web? Are the developers claiming the additional work that that was added for free by developers from SWISSA and Kessler's Full Canvas Jacket to RB3D as their own? The screenshots look like a miasma of the original 1989 game and the 1997 release of RBII. Which BTW don't age well in comparison to the modded content. Also understand, dear potential user/purchaser, that the base RB3D game play was immensly improved with the addition of the Western Front Patch, Moving Front Patch, and various sound and flight model patches.

Just sayin...

Not quite sure what your point is, but its clear that GOG and Mad Otter Games are selling titles which Mad Otter owns, lock stock and barrel. The wonderful add-ons by SWWISA forum members and other Indys (and Flyberts collection of many people's plane paintsets) were released as freeware. MOGs/GOG's product can probably be patched by the RB3D freeware without limitation.

Although it was SWWISA's stated policy that all add-ons were to be freeware without limitation, the choice to sell Full Canvas Jacket (which was originally to be freeware) was made by one person, and it appears that no other SWWISA folks received monetary benefit for their contributions to FCJ, originally slated to be freeware.

That is moot because the RB3D being sold by GOG does not contain the add-ons, as you note in your critique of the posted images from Red Baron I and RBII/RB3D. Your critique seems as though GOG posted with the SWWISA add-ons, which is not the case. Mad Otter and GOG's would very likely have no legal limitations including RB3D images containing planes and terrains from the add-on packages, although it would be best to acknowledge the source. GOG has presented RB3D professionally...IMHO

As someone who grew up with these games (unmodded) I cannot question the reasons for having these games available as an option to purchase and play, though I can respect your opinion/side of it.
