There are some threads about crashing during the opening movie, I can't even get that far! When I click on the icon the computer works for second and then stops. I thought maybe it was the graphics set up so I went in to check the settings AND to turn on the glide and forget being greyed out, it wont even let me in, it gives me the aformentioned "file access denied". When I click 'okay' it takes me to a game speed adjuster. From that panel I click on "run game" and I get "I/O error 103".

I suppose I could google all of this but this forum is so much nicer and more convenient. Hope someone can help.

I don't know if this matters, but when I first installed it and tried to run RB3D not only did nothing happen, it changed ALL of the icons for ALL of the games that I had installed today. When I restarted the computer everything went back to normal, but I thought I'd mention it.

I'm wondering if it even installed correctly because there isn't even a graphics setup option or icon, just the game speed one and I already went over how that works out.

UPDATE.

I tried the -window trick in the target line as perscribed by you fine folks and it is working but with two small problems; I stil don't have any kind of option to enter graphics setup much less change it to glide and second, it obviously starts in a window but even when I click to expand, the picture itself remains smallish surrounded by this BIG black border. I realize I'm being a super pain here, please bear with me.

I used trial and error but I wouldn't have gotten very far without the past threads so the first RB regular to comment in this thread gets credit for giving an answer. :)

Yeah. It took me forever just to get the game running but I managed to piece enough together by reading the entire RB thread. Great game BTW. I knew it has some realism settings but this is nice. I can really build the game to my desired specs however I happen to be feeling AND I can just turn it on for nothing more than some pointless fun dog fighting. Havn't seen anything quite like that since X-Wing Alliance.
