Hi,
In the dim, distant past I loved playing Red Baron 2. I'd love to give it another spin, although I don't appear to be able to find my original disk.

Problem is, I'd like to run it on my new iMac. I'm running Parallels Desktop and Windows 7. Is this dooable, or is there a similar/better WW1 flight sim that anybody would advise?

Best wishes,
Phil
It works under Bootcamp and *should* work under Parallels - but I haven't tried it myself, so I can't confirm that.

However, I have gotten RB3D almost completely working under Wine for Mac. The installation/setup is not that hard, but unfortunately there is one (important) aspect of the game that doesn't work - the joystick. Red Baron 3D uses an old Winmm API to interact with the joystick. This API has been translated for the Linux version of Wine, but not the Mac version. I've taken a look at the code and I don't think it would take someone very long to program a Mac version if they knew what they were doing. Unfortunately I don't. I know enough to understand the code base and what has to be done, but the Mac HID API is (to me) rather byzantine. That's my stumbling block right now.

Sorry I can't confirm if it works under Parallels, but at 6.5 pounds - try it and see! (if you're worried, then you can wait for the winter sale where it is likely to be less)
