Just curious as it appears to be a modern WWI flight sim and getting rave reviews since being updated. It's also only 9.99 as a download from Amazon.com until the 20th.
Anyone have experience with it vs RB3D?
If you are even remotely interested in RoF, now is the time to by. You can get the AlbDVa and SPAD XIII for free from the demo, RoF:ICE at Amazom gives you seven more planes including the demo planes, and with RoF selling planes at 7.50 USD each, that means you are only buying 1 & 1/3 airplanes and getting 5 & 2/3 airplanes for free..
Compared to RB3D, graphically, the RoF is way above. I have some criticism of RoF graphics but it is heads and shoulder above RB3D.
One person who I met and just started flying RoF in the past month, but has a lot of air sim experience and flies fixed wing planes like Cessna and Pipers privately and Helicopters in his line of work, said that the planes in RoF fly and react like real airplanes
Multiplayer wise, it is where it is currently happening for WWI simming. I have been on the servers a bit this past week and see numerous names from the RB3D heyday flying around.
When it comes to single Player, RB3D and it's Campaign Engine is still the best, but they are working on it. The other flaw with the SP campaign is you need to be online in order to play, and then you are limited only to the airplanes you "own"
Since most of my flying has always been SP, I like RB3D better, but I did get it from Amazon and can can fly with my friends who prefer MP.
