Sooo.....

Trying to use a custom picture for my pilot dossier. I have followed the instructions in the PDF user manual that I downloaded w/ the game. I have converted the picture to 256 BMP file that is 95x105 pixels and placed it in the {red baron 3d\data\shellpat} directory. When attempting to run PALMAP I get an "invalid command" error message. I have checked and double checked my spelling and pathway definitions. Any hints?

I have been able to successfully costomize my paint schemes w/o an issue. Just need this last thing to make the experience complete...

What are you naming the picture?

I have done custom pictures for RB3D in the past, but it does require a specific naming.

If you wish to leave the game's stock pictures intact, then the name needs to be Usrace15.bmp, then Usrace16.bmp for the next picture and so on to Usrace99.bmp, or you can over write the stock images by starting at Usrace00.bmp

You can get all the pictures from here http://www.flybert.net/genfiles/AcesBMPs.zip ( http://www.flybert.net/ )

I would also try putting the pictures in the SimPatch folder as that is where I have always put mine.

When making a picture, I would open up an existing pilot picture (that you can get from the download I posted above) copy your image into it, and then save as 256 colors. That is the best way to keep the colors from going psychedelic.

Good luck and ask if you need more help.
