I'd really recommend the autohotkey script thread listed in this forum.

Since you can re-map keys with the U.S. version (except for crawl for some reason), I just changed the script listed there by deleting the movement keys section except to set 'c' to act as the 'z' key and to use LAlt instead of the MButton. Easy cheesy.

In this way, you can use every letter except c when typing text.
Anyone know how to reset keys to default? I messed with them too much without realizing that I had to delete the old binds first. Now my keys are a mess and I can't even access the crtl + F1 menu. Reinstalling the game did nothing.

Delete the "mapper.txt" in the game directory.

That actually didn't do anything, surprisingly. I was able to override the locked mappings by running ROTH as an admin, however. This was most likely a problem with my computer specifically.

That usually happens when you install a game in the Program Files folder under windows vista and newer. This folder requires special permissions to change files in there and this gets really confusing because windows keeps modified versions of files in a different folder, so depending on whether you run a game as administrator or normal user the game sees different files.

Just avoid all that hassle and don't install GOG games (or any older software that writes to the installation directory) to the program files folder.
I´m playing it with "keymapper" and the 360 controller, like a "regular actual shooter" but also i mapped the keypad as the mouse, and left and right RB as left and right mouse clicks, it´s pretty cool for play it without touch the keyboard for mostly nothing.
How do u edit the mapper to be able to use a 360 controller?

Buatha: Damn it!

Coincidentally, I had just installed RotH to my hard drive and was using DOSBox when GoG release their version The weird part was their version run so much better than mine, so I deleted it. Now, I find out this is the UK version without the keybindings!

Ack. I could have maybe figured out their DOSBox settings on why my U.S. version was running so slowly :(
Must ask have you noticed any significant differences in plotline or cut scenes?

To the best of my knowledge there are no plot or cutscene differences at all (and certainly nothing significant).

The only notable differences I'm aware of are the keybinding options and the "arcade difficulty" (combat) settings. The automatic object selection option is also re-branded as an easier "adventure difficulty" setting.
