Carmelo2683: Patrick !! , you sir are a hero :D , it took me a little bit to figure things out , even though your instructions are pretty much on point :) , and not only did your solution worked , but as well i was able to finish the game on my own :) , this worked both on my laptop with windows 7 , and my descktop with windows 8 , id say this solution should be stickied if mods consider it , because its a game braking thing , and this makes it posible to finish it.
So thanks once again man , you saved my group and Arkania but making my group able to finish the quest :)

patricklibuda: Hi,
Congratulations :-). At the time I got as far as the final dungeon but then poxy university got in the way. However, I hope that at least this link stays and is not shut down as well. Originally, I had used the link to the Website where the author of JemmEX had published it (you will notice that my posting was edited a number of times). Then I switched to the link given at the top of my posting and verified that it actually did work. Finally, following your posting, I had to look again and was lucky to find an alternative source.
By the way, the actual heroes are the guys who did all the testing prior to the release of the German 'Heldenedition' (Heroes' Edition) of the Arkania trilogy (cf.
http://www.crystals-dsa-foren.de/showthread.php?tid=4441). However, as not everybody on this planet speaks German, I endeavoured to write what I did for English-speaking players and with (hopefully still) working links.
I have got three versions of the German Arkania trilogy: 1) the original boxed versions (number 3 was only published as a CD, just like a music CD) I bought at the time, still in mint condition by the way, 2) the 'Heldenedition' (I actually bought a number of them and gave them to friends because particularly Part 2 we had played together extensively at the time (as well as the pen and paper version of Arkania) and there still are very fond memories indeed), and 3) the GOG version.
This was just to show that I did not just scrounge of other people's work ;-).
With regard to the 'solved' I would advise caution. No idea for how long the current download link will work. Alternatively, you can try anything that teaches DOSBox to use DPMI.
I do not understand that GOG are still basically selling something that cannot be completed in the way they are publishing it! Apart from that, the matter has already been discussed in the GOG Arkania forum before (
http://www.gog.com/forum/realms_of_arkania_series/electronic_hintbook_for_the_german_version_of_roa3) but the dear folks at GOG still have not bothered about doing anything about it. And just like the person I was discussing the issue with, I have also written to GOG customer support. But alas, as I said, so far nothing has happened.
Anyway, I am glad I was able to help :-) Enjoy your weekend.
Cheers
Patrick
Well then thanks to those heroes , and to you for telling me , and anyone else that see this post in the future , about the solution , i also belive that GoG should get the game fully playable , because wile i understand that its not suposed to be compatible with windows 8 , its suposed to be with windows 7 , and i had problems there as well.
Also GoG support send me a answer to my problem , it took like 2 days maibe , and wile it didint solve my problem most of it was to try a diferent settings on the gog launcher , updating my video card , and downloading an extra program , atleast they have allways answered pretty quick when i had a problem in the past :D
But like i said , if anyone else have this problem , now atleast they can get it fixed , and enjoy the game fully :) , its been a great expirience for me , currently playing Drakensang the dark eye , a first for me as well , i acctually would love to join an rpg group for the Dark eye world , normally play in roll20 myself , but as i understand most of the content its in german , well-...... it makes things hard :P
