My old CD of Rayman had an FMV intro ... which is apparently missing from the GoG version: I think it only played when you started an entirely new game, but it was really nicely done and did a great job of providing a little background.

I'm searching my PC now for the old file to see if I could just move it over, but this really should be included in the GoG release.
Are you talking about that video ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2Flq65Qv5A
I can't remember if it was in the Gold edition that I still have on my desk. But I'm almost sure it was there in the PlayStation version :)
Exactly :)

It was definitely in the original PC version. There was an option in the installer whether you wanted to install it which (I think) simply added a file named "intro.dat" to the installation.
Unfortunately, the Rayman's intro movie was removed in the Forever original release.
We are trying to do something about it but there are some legal issues in the way so I can't make any promises. All I can do now is kindly ask for your patience.

Thanks Paczyk: don't worry, I don't expect miracles, I just thought it was an oversight.

I can be patient, as long as you guys make a good effort. It'd be going the extra mile to add in, in some form, the stripped content of the original release, be it including the original game as a bundle or even altering the code of the 'Forever' release (now that would be impressive...), but it'd be much appreciated, for sure.

I bought this game, despite having the original PlayStation game (not to mention it's perfectly playable on PC ripped as an ISO in an emulator), for the extra content of Rayman Forever, knowing full well about the missing content, as well as the fact that I was especially happy to see this game show up here (I'm a sucker for platformers!). I have good faith that you guys will at the very least attempt the effort to please your fans here as best you can, so thanks! :D
Just found my old Rayman CD... turns out that Rayman Forever is apparently an entirely different build (looks like a different compiler to me)... When you just put intro.dat into the Rayman Forever folder, it crashes.

Seems like the only good solution would be getting rid of Rayman Forever altogether and run the original Rayman through a separate ISO.... which would also get rid of the music issues.
I have to agree. I doubt it'll happen, of course, but I'd easily prefer the original version to this Forever one.
I'm very disappointed with this.

This thread is two months old...

Currently the intro is already available for download in the bonus content of the game :)
Sorry for the late reply.

This is great but how do i integrate it into the game, what's the file path?

There's no explanation in the download.

I think you can´t, it´s just for viewing it before starting the game. Personally I don´t care that much, it would be better integrated, but it´s not a big deal.
