i cant seem to get it to work, ive tried running as administrator and all that happens is that a small ubisoft logo flashes and then it goes back to doing nothing basically

Maybe you have to enable DirectPlay, it worked for me.

Go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows features on or off -> select the DirectPlay check box -> restart pc
