I recently bought Rayman 3 from GOG.com, but the game won't run and here's what happened: I downloaded the Rayman 3 installer after purchasing the game at GOG.com, then I ran it and it installed the game. Then I tried launching the game but an error popped up, and it said "Please run the Rayman III installer', I tried redownloading the installer but no changes were made.

Here is some more info:
The location of the file is: C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Rayman 3
And I use Windows 7.

If anyone could help me, it would be very appreciated.

The message "Please run the Rayman III installer" means that the necessary registry entries haven't been made correctly. Maybe you have a firewall or similar that's interfering with the installation? Did any strange error messages come up during the installation process?

Bear in mind too that you do need to run the configuration program from the Start menu under GOG.com/Rayman 3 at least once before you can play the game, or it just won't start.

I'm pretty sure I ran the configuration program, and I had no errors during the installation. I'll attempt to run the installer again, after taking your suggestion. EDIT: I am not sure if there is any program interrupting the installation, got any suggestions to what I need to do?

If you have a firewall or antivirus solution other than Microsoft Security Essentials, it may be worth turning it off during installation (and then turning it back on again when you're done).

I tried turning my Windows firewall off and then back on, it didn't make any changes. I have avast anti virus, do I need to turn it off as well? And if I am then I have no idea how to do it... it doesn't have a *turn off* button or anything.

Windows Firewall shouldn't be a problem.

I actually used Avast until recently. The reason I stopped was because it was interfering with pretty much everything I was using. There was an option hidden somewhere to disable the anti-virus and firewall for a certain number of minutes.

I'm on my work PC so I can't test it right now, but I'll send you a copy of the registry entry when I'm on my gaming PC tonight.
