Hi!

When I have noticed that Rayman 2 was avaible in GOG.com I've bought it instantly, just because it is finally compatible with Windows 7 x64. Unfortunately, the game crashes after Rayman escapes with Globox from the floating boat. Apart from this, I noticed that the game runs in 16-bit color mode and that WIdeScreen resolutions just stretch the image, but these aren't serious problems. I also noticed that the game starts running at 60 fps but suddenly drops to around 30 fps. What can I do to play this game? It is one of my favourite games EVER.

Thank you!

My specs are:

Windows 7 x64 Home Premium
Intel Core2 Quad Q9550
Asus nVidia GeForce 285 GTX
4 GB RAM
Asus Striker II NSE Motherboard

Hmmm the only framerate issue I notice on my computer is the animation of the characters during the cut scene.

Could not hurt to post your computer specs and see if we can figure it out.

The first thing I would try, with any game is to set compatibility mode to XP SP3 by right clicking the executable, and the compatibility tab and choosing XPSP3 then click apply...
Ok, I solved it. The crash was caused by the DEP exceptions, but unfortunately, the game only runs in 16-bit color mode, which is disappointing.

I also had this game working by adding an exception for it in the DEP program list of windows. If anyone is wondering how to do this, here are some instructions :

Right-click "My computer" and choose "Properties" (This screen may also be access using the control pannel, in the System and security / System category). Then in the left panel of the window, choose "advanced system parameters". In the new windows that pops up, choose the "advanced system parameters" tab, then click the "settings" button in the "Performance" pane. Then in the new window that pops up, choos the "Data execution prevention" tab. If this is activated, you must add an exception for Rayman here.

Here are some screenshots of the relevant screens :

PS : The colours look pretty good on my screen ...

I sorted the DEP problem and switched ran in 16 bit reduced color mode and that STILL didn't work.
