I have tried using every version of winmm.dll I can find, but I am not able to get the menu music working in Win 10 64-bit.

Can I get you to run an experiment for me since I think I got it to work
download this fix for RS

instead of dragging RS.exe onto the program drag r6.exe onto it, don't use the shortcut use the one from the install folder
open _inmm.dll setup and add *.ogg to the file type with direct show as the player, change default to direct show as well
go to the _inmm.ini tab and add all the music from music folder in the r6 install, youll need to change it to show all files
press save and put the file it wants to save with the r6.exe

Well, that was a pretty convoluted process but it did the trick. Thank you. I have the music & ambient sound working just like the original. The game just wasn't the same without it. Now I'm just afraid to uninstall it. I don't know what the licensing looks like on that utility but it would be nice if GOG could roll the patch into the installer to fix it once and for all.

i'll write them an email about it but much like the dgvoodoo fix in the pinned messages it wasn't officially rolled out as a fix for the game

I can confirm that is actually works. I also did it for my Steam copy of Carmageddon 2.
Thank you so much for your help on getting this game to run. Now, if only the invisible NPC issue was resolved, it'd be perfect. I guess only time will tell, right?

This is due to windows 10 that apply some compatibility settings on Winmm.dll.
The easiest way to bypass that, is to rename winmm.dll inside of the game folder to music.dll
Then edit with notepad++ RainbowSix.exe and replace winmm.dll text (you should find only one reference) to music.dll
save your change.

Musics should come back after that.
