Hello folks, Just a heads up for all of you thinking about buying this game as well as a request to GOG.
This game and at LEAST one other that I have purchased from GOG, has active stream coding embedded in it.
I use the off-line download files, not the GOG on-line install program.
I currently install the games I buy here on an air-gaped, stand-alone, off-line system, if I run it/them with admin permissions the stream coding is limiting the playing time AND shutting my system down without warning.
How can I enjoy the full game without having said stream code blocking/limiting play?
Might there be a way for an 'end run' / proxy program/line of code that appeases said code?
Grateful for any help and thank in advance.
The suggestion to the GOG folks, when you put a game for sale on your site / under your no DRM 'promise' will you please provide either a version that does not have the stream coding or at the least provide said bypass.
10/20/24 Update, I downloaded the off-line files for version 62268_69, did a straight install on that stand alone system, and got the exact response as the first time, program crashed 5 seconds after loading the entry screen.
10/30/24 update, I am happy to report that the 1.5.2 update has allowed the game to play, thank you to the GOG guys and gals as well as the developers for removing or bypassing whatever was blocking the game from running.
