I got Raiden Legacy on Desura, and that version was...bad. It was basically just an emulator slapped onto four games and with no additional features -- I couldn't even credit-feed them, for example.

I later bought Raiden III and I've noticed how it's far better, with a bunch of settings including difficulty settings, starting lives/bombs, etc..

Is the current version of Raiden Legacy better than that old one? If so, how?
