So...GRiD evidently had some real problems with 4+ core CPU compatibility -- it would crash on certain maps. Did GoG modify the XML files to correct this? Has anybody run into this problem with 4+ core CPUs and the GoG version of GRiD? (I have a 4-core i5, but haven't had the chance to load the game up yet).
I too and curious of how well it runs w/ multi-core CPU architecture and in particular, Windows 8?
I'm running a quadcore AMD Phenom but haven't run in any troubles so far.
According to my Device Manager, I am running an i3 with 4 cores and I have had no stability issues with Race Driver GRID even if I do have it installed on an external hard drive :D.
Is anyone running it inside of windows 8? The CD version sticks at the loading screen in win8 and was wondering if by stripping the DRM from the original helped this issue? (CD version runs fine under WinXP)...PS..steam version suffered the same problem.

Haven't had any problems in Win8 myself. Runs great here. That said, I would still be cautious. If two different versions of the game gave you the exact same problem it may still not work for you, DRM-free or not.
