Hey guys, been playing through the series (as I seem to yearly do) but this time I decided to buck the trend of going Paladin, on account of their having nicer class-specific quests, and went with a Magic-User. The issue, though, is that when I import from 4 to 5, it changes my Wizard (I joined WIT, naturally) into a Paladin, with the wrong stats (like less than 400 Intelligence and Magic)

I peeked through some pages back, and through the Import/Export sticky, but nothing seemed to address this issue with this game. Anyone have any ideas on this? Was my Honor too high coming out of 4? Did I really waste a whole night grinding Flame Dart, Force Bolt, Lightning Bolt, and Frost Bolt to 400 for no reason? D:

The only thing I can think of is that you're somehow loading the default "Paladin" import that comes with the game instead of the Wizard import.

Either that, or QFG4's import somehow messed up - it's done that to me before, though usually it only resulted in the file being strangely small and nonfunctional. Try loading your last save file in QFG4 and just playing around to alter your character's values (like dropping gold or something, or training up a skill you *didn't* invest in) and re-exporting.

Oh lordy. Re-saving the import file and moving it over apparently fixed this issue. I have no idea why the first one flubbed up like it did, but there we go! Thanks Zachski. :3
