Andy_Panthro: At least this bug is in-character!
True! :D

ratpizza: Oh, well, to look it on the positive side, the game will last longer now;) (This is one of the best games I've played!)
Yes, it's one of my two favorites of the series. My other favorite alternates between the first one and the second, depending on my mood that day. :) But #4 is alwyas at the top, errors and all.

GuiBraga: F***ing domovoi. Now I have to start all over again.............!!!
After reading this thread I'm not at all certain what the triggers may be. I never overhead any conversation between the innkeepers regarding Tanya, and I spent a lot of time exploring the game world before finally cracking open a walkthrough and discovering that I needed to visit the main room of the inn after midnight. When I finally did that, the Domovoi was sitting right there. This was almost certainly after day 5, but I'd done so much by that point that it's difficult to say what the trigger may have been.
You know, my first thought is, it's a Sierra game. They are ruthless for pulling the "oh you didn't find that one obscure thing 3 hours ago? Sorry, start over" trick. What's worse is when they let you continue playing, when you don't know you're already past the point of no return. I can think of some examples right off the top of my head. Domovoi doesn't surprise me for that reason.
I'm... semi-ok with that. Sierra games are fun enough to put up with it.

burf90: You know, I may be the only person alive that feels this way, but when I first played QFG4 and encountered Error 52, I actually eventually came to consider it the hardest puzzle in the game, rather than an error. I learned more about what I could and couldn't do with my old IBM PC from trying to find a way around that bug than any class could have ever taught me. :)
You weren't the only one to treat it like a puzzle. If I remember right the solution was giving acrobatics to my fighters and paladins and then killing them with stones or magic depending on class. it certainly took a lot of trial and error to get to that solution though.
GODDAMNIT!

I *just* restarted my game because I ran into (what I thought was) another bug dealing with the Leshy and now I have to star over AGAIN?

The worst part is each time I spend the time grinding to build up my stats! I just want to move on to QFG5 already!

Seriously, I don't know if I have it in me to start over again. It's so annoying having to sit skip through all the dialogue and BS. The Tarot readings are the worst, even if you constantly press ESC it still takes like 5 minutes to get through ONE of the readings and there's 4 of them and you can only do one a day.

Seriously, this sucks.
If you're getting Error 52, go back to a save before you entered the swamp and turn down the Dosbox speed (way down) before heading in there. It may also help if you set the in-game settings to "high speed, low detail".

Generally, you want to keep the DOSbox speed setting low when playing the game since most of the errors that occur in the CD version (which GoG uses) are due to the system running too fast.
I didn't try to search for the Domovoi until day 12 and he wasn't there. I thought that I had to go back to day five, but it turned out that I just backtracked to day 9 and he was there. The rest of the game worked fine for me after that. What sucked was that I did a lot of skill grinding during those three days while searching for the Domovoi and I lost a lot of stats. Oh, and I had to make the elderberry pie again, but that wasn't a big deal.
I´ve started the game all over again also. I´ve found the domovoi at day 3. I had stayed at the inn until the night, when the innkeeper is sleeping and then I went downstairs and I could finally talk to him.
Is there really no way to get the fucking domovoi pecker to show up?
It's day 15 a lot of stuff happened so i didn't feel like i'm stuck but then everything came to a stop and i found out i have to talk to the domovoi but he's just not there.
I reanimated the other domovoi in the monastery and i torched the place down some time ago, i got people talking about the domovoi and tanya, i've even talked to her and on top of that the gypsy fortuneteller told me to use the doll which i found with me keen eye on the cupboard at the inn but i can't take it because the domovoi's not there.

I just don't want to do everything all over again.
