When I get to Elsa after Yorrick's room I can not dispel her before she stabs me. I've tried at all sorts of speeds and cpu cycles. I have the wait icon and I can not right click fast enough from the hand to the dispel and click it on her fast enough. She's kind of slow getting over the table and then she stabs extremely fast. In previous playthroughs from the original collection she kind of stares you down for a few seconds. I also tried clicking from the inventory really quickly to no avail. Has anyone experienced this? A Google search has turned up nothing.

That's wierd, you should get a text box about her taunting you with her stillness before she stabs. Maybe just try reloading an earlier save?
Try pressing Ctrl+F11 a bunch to slow down the game emulation. I've personally never had an issue with that part of the game but it may be that it's processing too fast for you there.

Tried it, I think it's a new bug with this version.
I just got over that part and had no problems with it. Didn't need to tweak the cycles or anything, it just ran as it should.

Is your in-game speed slider cranked up? I never touched it and went through the game at default speed. It shouldn't affect any characters other than your own though.

Note: I'm playing from a lo-fi netbook and yes, I use the GOG version of QFG1
This is the most embarassingly stupid mistake I've ever made. I never went back to the healer to get the dispel potion. I kept trying to cure her with the undead unguent I got at the same time. I've beaten this game literally 20 times now and I've never felt so dumb. Thanks for the attempted help guys. I've marked Baues as the solution provider because indeed an earlier save was all I could do.
