Hi All!
TLDR: in QFG5 combat, when you’ve equipped the bow, “use” arrows on enemies to shoot at them!
Pointlsss story:
Many of you will know about QFG5Patcher, which besides fixing a lot of bugs and crashes, also allows playing as Elsa von Spielburg, or Magnum Opus. If you don’t, you can find it by googling, it's easy to find, i can't post the link because i have no rep yet sorry!
I initially was really excited to play as Elsa and use her bow! But then when I played as her and equipped the bow, I found I couldn’t use it :( I equipped it and tried attacking with F and G, but all that did was kick and punch. I tried putting the bow in a number-hotkey and pressing it, but all that did was equip and unequip the bow. I tried getting into combat, activate the bow as my cursor item and “using it” on enemies, but that didn’t work either
I tried googling as many combinations of “use bow Elsa qfg5” and related words as I could think of, but never found any instructions on how to use the bow
So I gave up
And then last night I was idly googling and found an early forum post from someone describing how fun archery in QFG5 was, and how they weren’t sure if there was any difference between the Bow and the Magic Bow, besides the Magic Bow being lighter.
This ignited my desire again and I fired up QFG5 to see if I could figure it out. My wife was startled by my audible glee when “using” an arrow on an enemy prompted Elsa to draw back the bow and shoot at them.
I could not find this information anywhere online, so I figured I’d post it as a PSA
