Igor's hammering on the stole slab in town produces an unholy loud note, like somebody mixed up their MIDI instrument. Anyone else got that?

Yep, sounds like honking. Probably one of those mordavian honking stones.

I had the same annoying thing untill I went into the install file and switched Sound Card drivers. Try General Midi Sound Driver, SoundBlaster or Adlib, they all sound better than Roland, which the gog-version is set to by default in the VGA-versions.

*facepalm*
Why the heck does GOG insist on setting stuff up for Roland?
How do I edit the set up file?

I'd like to point out that QG1VGA has this same problem. You get choir noises where there should be chirping.

Run install.exe (DOSBox will be required, at least if you have 64-bit Windows) in the game's folder underneath where you installed it.

Needed DOSBox. Bah, had a feeling that was the answer. I was holding out for another answer. Okay, thanks a lot.
