I have saved my charitcar to the c dirve and found it as a glory save but I cant figure out how to get it to my next game, trail by fire. I am using windows 7 and when I copy it to the game folder I can't find it under the list of files. What am I doing wrong here? I need clear directions. Thanks for the help

Hey there, I can help you. First check the import faq a couple topics down, that may solve your problem. Was the save created after the end sequence in the first game and is the file you moved Heroname.sav? If it's .sg then it won't work. I found that putting the .sav file in the base folder always works for QFG2 (remake or original) Put it in the base folder and not in anyother subfolder. It should say c:gog.com/Quest For Glory Pack/Quest For Glory 2 or something similar and that's it. Then start the game via the shortcut either in your desktop or Start Bar. Select import and it should be in there.
I have copied it to the folder and it dos not appear in the export options. What is the base folder? The Quest for glory 2 folder is what I am pasting it into but I can't acces it at all. What is wrong here. The other post is far to large and I don't understand half of what I am reading. I saved it after completing the game and it is a .save, GLORY1.sav is the full name of the file.
Glory1.sav is the correct one. It's likely to do with the pathing in that case. If you're running the game in Dosbox take the entire Qfg2 folder and paste it onto Dosbox.exe This will mount the folder as the c drive in Dosbox. Then type Sierra and it should launch the game. If Glory1.sav is in the right folder it should show up following those steps.
I tried to past it onto this dosbox and typ sierra but I am told that is a illege code. What is going on here? Is my game so messed up that I can't get this to work? I realy don't know why I need to run it diffrently. When I lanch my game it is still not there. I don't understand what is wrong. Dosbox is what is running my game, it comes up as I launch. I have also tried to save it to my flash drive but the game won't recionize my drive. I typed in l:/ and it says that is not a valed drive. L is the drive for my flash drive, I also tried K:/. I tried both lower and uper case here and I also just typed the letter. I don't supose there is a way for it to see my flash is there. That would be a heck of a lot easier.

When you select "Import" in the Main Menu of Quest for Glory 2, it should show you a list of files, which are the files in the directory it is currently looking in. These should probably be in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Quest for Glory Pack\Quest for Glory 2\" folder. Paste the glory1.sav file in that directory, then in the Import menu scroll down until you find it.
If the contents of the import menu are not in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Quest for Glory Pack\Quest for Glory 2\" directory, take a look in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Quest for Glory Pack\" to see where they are.
As for mounting your flash drive, it is possible, but it will need you to edit the dosbox configuration files.
Find the "DosBox<game>.conf" file, where <game> is the game you will play, open it with notepad, scroll to the bottom where it should have a section [autoexec].
After the
"mount C ."
add
"mount I i:\"
This will mount the directory I:\ as the drive I in dosbox.
If you get an "Access Denied" error on saving the file, copy the file to desktop, modify it, then copy it back.
If you have any more trouble, ask.
AHH! I live again! Thanks a bunch for every one for working with me throw this problume. My mage is back and readly to set monsters on fire with flame dart. I found the right folder. Thanks again and now I will say good by and go and kill monsters with glee.
