So I have beaten Quest for Glory 1 and I continued with the EGA version of Quest for Glory 2. My problem is the fight controls. I don't have any real problem with them, my problem is that my laptop does not have a numeric keypad.

Is there any way to change the controls or maybe an alternate way of fighting. Someone please help me I really want to play this game.

Depending on what laptop you have, you very well may actually have a numeric keypad which shares other keys on the keyboard.

Like this one for example.

On the the laptop keyboard in the above link, the keys 7, 8, 9, u, i, o, j, k, l, etc. serve as the numeric keys, when holding down the [fn] key. Granted, this may awkward to play with.

If you're interested in remapping keys, DOSBox allows that, but the process is somewhat cumbersome: DOSBox Keymapper

If all else fails, you can purchase one of these: USB Numeric Keypad

For the record, if you have directional keys (which every laptop should), you can still do combat, you just can't do all of what you want.

Up = Thrust
Down = Dodge Back
Left = High Parry
Right = Low Parry

Grinding your character's skill up can compensate for the missing controls. The game is easy enough on the default arcade difficulty anyways.
