Pressing 'K' doesn't work and it won't let me change my key settings.
What are you trying to do to change the key settings?

Well the on the customize keyboard screen it says to press enter to change and backspace to clear. But that doesn't seem to work at all.
Huh. Odd. Can't imagine why it's doing that. Have you sent an email to tech support?
I have the same issue. Tried compatibility for 95, 98, xp sp2/3, nothing. Non issue for everything but a thief. If you can't sneak, then what's the point, right? The normal attack keys work. The quick keys/hotbar 123456 etc do not work either. Cannot reassign. It's like the game disables half of my keyboard, sucks! Especially after I spent the time to go through 1-4 as a thief.

so /bump. Anyone found the answer yet?
First, unplug any other input devices (controllers, etc) you have other than the mouse and keyboard, since those can interfere with older games' controls.

Second, are the mouse and keyboard using any special drivers or configuration programs? (Gaming mice often do.) If so, shut those down and/or disable the drivers temporarily to see whether that helps.

Third, it might be worth trying a different mouse and/or keyboard, especially if either of them are more than 'basic' ones.
Has anyone who has had this problem successfully solved it? I am struggling also.

Playing on a Windows 10 laptop with stock keyboard and a basic mouse.

UPDATE: I fixed it! Garran's advice is correct. It was a hardware issue. In my case the driver for my touch pad was interfering with the game somehow. I uninstalled the touch pad and restarted. My system automatically reinstalled the touch pad with a different driver set. Now everything works great. All buttons, mapping keys, etc. Also, night looked like daytime before and now it looks dark as it should. This was truly a weird problem.
