I am stuck, I did almost everything and am ready to cure Tanya, but according to a walkthrough I'm supposed to ask Magda about the staff, then the spell. I don't have that option. I even did everything near the staff hoping to activate something but no.

I am completely stuck.

Edit: Never mind, the game apparently made it so I can't meet Tanya and cure her in the same night. I had to wait until the next day to trigger that conversation.

The third time you visit the Gypsies, you should have this conversation tree with Magda. If you don't have this option, keep leaving and coming back until you do:

*Erana
**Staff
***Destiny Spell
**Erana's Garden

You need to ask Magda about the Destiny Spell to enable the option to tell Tanya about the Staff.

And yes, you can do this at the same time that you befriend her.

You CAN meet Tanya and cure her the same night. You won't get full points if you do this (you get points for manually exiting the castle) but you can do it.
Thank you :D
You can meet her and cure her on the same night and still get the points.

Just shake the grim reaper's hands when you enter the crypt. You'll trigger the points for figuring out how to leave the crypt, and you can just walk right back in and into the castle.

I regularly hit the points cap of 500. I say cap because I am almost 100% certain there's more than 500 points in the game, because you're supposed to get a large amount of points for beating the game (something like 50) and I have 478 points entering the final part.
Wouldn't surprise me. The fifth game caps you at 1000 points, even though you could get close to 1200 if the points list is to be believed.
You don't get 50 points for beating every QFG game. Just the first one. You get 25 points for beating the 2nd one. After that I'm not sure there's really points for beating the game.

By "beating the game" i mean "the final action required to succeed".

And the guides I've seen list it as 50 points for Quest for Glory 4.
