Is there any alternatives for quicktime to play QFG 5 ? If so how would you get it to work. I'm asking because according to homeland security they recommend windows users to unistall quicktime.

The version that QFG 5 is using is a very old, outdated version that already has known security issues (Myst uses a more ancient version still). It's not really a problem if you don't have any browser plugin enabled or have it as an associated helper application(MIME type).
