I just installed the Quake II Enhanced via backup installers and most things seem to be working correctly. The issue I am coming across, though, is that I cannot log into the Online multiplayer to create or search for games. The error message "One or more accounts failed to sign into multiplayer" appears when I click on "Online". It doesn't give me a chance to fill in credentials or anything.

I play Quake Enhanced (backup installers version) and have no issue with Online multiplayer login/crossplay, so I have no idea why Quake II Enhanced is acting up. Has anyone else experienced this? I can't find much on the web about it.

This is exactly the same problem for me. I also allowed quake2 to pass through my firewall but it does not help. I do not have the problem with the quake 1 remaster, there the online multiplayer works.

Solved it: I had to update the Galaxy client to the newest version. Now it works.

Glad to hear that solved it for you. Unfortunately, I don't use the Galaxy Client at all. I wonder if it's required for it to work, or maybe the Backup Installer is just an older version?
I'am pretty sure its required for the online multiplayer, i remember reading something about this from nightdive studios.
