1. When stomping on the zombie who is on the ground,
2. while holding space key to stomp,
3. open or keep open the WORLD (ground or container) inventory,
4. click and keep clicking in the black area of wold inventory with your mouse (as you hold space key to stomp).

This seem to cause player animation delay to be ignored completely allowing very fast stomps at no penalty. The Zed MUST be on the ground though.

Edit:
- Tested and this bug also exists in multiplayer.
- It allows to deal with 8-10 zombies, if they approach inline.
- It also allows to chop trees faster using hands. You just start pushing tree by holding space and at same time click fast into world inventory space.

hmmm, does it work on multi zees? for ex. while stomping one, you leave the container screen up and then push another to the ground and continue the stomp?

It has huge impact. If you understand what you are doing, you can defeat 8-10 zombies at once barehanded, because fast-stomping not only damages the zombie on ground, but also sends an area-off-effect damage, causing all Zeds in front of you to be pushed back, sometimes on the ground.

The effect is as efficient, as using a regular axe, but requires no weapon whatsoever. The downside is that it requires good feel of controls and of situation.

Just start experimenting with just one zombie on the ground. You should immediately notice the difference when you click into empty inventory field, during holding space key for stomp action.

Edit: I consider this a bug, I discovered it in version 36 because I usually strip Zeds of clothes to clearly see which bodies I have already checked - and I noticed that when I try to stomp a still alive Zed and at same time - remove stuff from already dead Zed on same floor cell via inventory - that the stomping suddenly goes really fast.

But with 38 replay, I decided to experiment around more - and thats the result. I have no idea if its documented already and if it works in multiplayer. It actually should...

thanks for the info, might play around with this tho it sounds a bit tricky to pull off with dire results if it misses :P

i already tried just pushing zees to make fall down (no axe) but usually made a mess of the distance and succeeded in only scrambling away and digging out the axe just in time .... i suck

the good news is the iron stove is working nicely inside and warming up as well as cook, lighting. was a bit iffy if it would warm me too but so far ok. much nicer than a fire pit which i have trod into on more than one occasion in the past , heh

so im working with snares, which always have been a pain in the past as far as output, box traps work great and fill with birds anywhere you put them but snares.. ugh. only recipe i have tho. so i put them out on town edges with some woods, but its not forest as there arent any close by, cleared out the zees... etc. but does anyone know if i can build walls around the snares and say leave a tile unwalled... will that mess up the hunting? i dont fancy losing all the snares to zee incursion is why i ask. btw, there arent any mobile home parks or storage facilities in this city.

Ringing alarm is a difficult matter -
18 zombies run up the ladder,

18 zombies walked in the room,
18 zombies shared the doom.

I think I got an idea with this post :)

.... and I will need A LOT OF BLEACH to clean this.

nice! looks very messy :) did you fast stomp them?

btw, building a wall around snares still allows hunting tho i did leave one gap open, still snares are very slow kill rate compared to box traps and mouse traps. yesterday I walked all the way to the other side of town to steal one of those angel statues from the graveyard. about done with this version of the game so was looking at the mod hydrocraft. you did say you ran it fine with gog version right? not from steam

ooo, just noticed that was a brand new character in the screenie, very nice

Thanks for the hunting tipps!

Yes, its a brand new character, an unemployed "lucky dextrous outdoorsman". I previously played online and it went fine, until admin decided he needs to nuke Westpoint and nuked my forest base with nice new cemetery. He then installed Hydrocraft, which I don't want to touch in any case.

Yes, the steam workshop mods work with GOG version, but they are just locked behind Steam access! I think INDIE STONE should do something here!! Some mods do provide external links though, there are some mirrors on Playground.ru. Yes Hydrocraft worked fine, but it adds tons of stuff that I never needed, and this stuff also "waters" down the vanilla items resulting in tons of items and tons of recipe that I never need (like arm-deployed teleporting attack dogs).

I also removed the "Pump Power" mod, since I discovered that if electricity is still there, you can collect fuel just fine - and after you have that initial gas, you can then attach generator to gas station for additional pumping later. So, I am only using my "caveman" mod, but have not touched its features yet.

Yes, 260 kills in first two days! Those 18 guys all run up into my base and I have finished them all with stomping quite quickly. You have to get at least one down and make absolutely sure that they all come from same direction that you are looking at. I set off an alarm in tools shop, run back in 2nd stock - and they all came after me as single crowd.

This stomping is maybe not bug, maybe its actually a hidden pro feature. You see, the knife attack is actually risky and you need knives to make meat and fish food! So with stomping, as soon as you push one and stay aware of your actions and direction -, its gameover for a crowd. And to take several down one can use a plank, which is fully renewable. The safe stomping is pretty hard to master though!
yeah, I tried the stomping but couldnt get it to work, I had the inventory box open from a dead zee and stomped one still alive on the ground. it maybe something to do with knife work like you said. Ill stick to my push and stomp routine till next game.

thanks for the tip on hooking gennie up to gas station, tbh I never used much gas, by the time the power goes out in Initial Infection i usually have so much farmed food and meat that I dont need to refrig, add in high enuf cooking level and you can still use rotten food so that made it even less needed. also it draws attacks with the sound of it. so I usually end up not using gennies much. this play thru Ive gone with total comfort and want to keep my fridges / lights going so will use the gennie for that.

will look into the link for second site to load mods from steam workshop, other forum threads here about tweaking this and that to make steam work just seemed too much trouble. i am interested in hydrocraft as that is what i do in this game, crafting and decorating so would like to see more assets for that. :P but i can see how that would ruin the flavor of the game and is why ive avoided it till now. i also dont want to get 'used' to mod features so much that vanilla feels wrong , awkward or unplayable.

anywho, keep on stompin, kill em all!! arrrrggggghhhh!
