I cannot stomach build 41, whenever i approach a doorwar or go up stairs where there might be zombies waiting upstairs, or even heading round a corner i become uneasy since it is so dangerous, when going to open a door i get paranoid since if a zombie comes rushing out immediately towards me and i react fast to move the opposite direction, i might get caught because of the slow turn speed. or if im going to press space to push away i have to make sure im turned to point the right way first, and if i start pushing or swinging then it is to late to turn until it is done

in order to play safely and not take risks you have to take so many precations the game becomes boring, i have to conciously plan out my movement as tho i am driving and operating a vehicle and have to take into account that it must move forward or backward in order to turn, and its all slow and unresponsive.

in reality if not moving fast humans can turn quickly on a dime no problem or push in any direction with whatever arm is in reach, or simple step quickly in any direction no matter how you are facing.

right now i either take unnesasary risks such as mentioned above (eg going round corner or upstairs or opening/going through door) and then it is only a matter of random chance until i get screwed, or i take all the nessesary precations and gameplay becomes slow and boring.

this really is game breaking, i need to feel my guy reacts instantly to my key presses, if i look at the game and react fast enough that should be my part, maybe the developers want to add more challenge and realism but this seems a poor substitute for well thoughtout and challenging gameplay mechanics. there are no options in sandbox settings to change this either.

does anyone else feel the same or is it just me?

yeah, the movement takes some time to get used to, for me I find the targeting box annoying and hard to use. All I can say is the added difficulty appeals to alot of players, you really have to be on your toes. The game is much harder now making every outing a huge risk, which amps up the dread and fear factor. eventually you will get used to it and become adept at surviving within its limits. ive watched some vids of players owning the new build to the point that it seems silly, walking away from huge hoards that are all trying to grab. Im sure there will be many more tweaks from devs so hang in there. I also got a bit burnt out on it and went back to old build to play but stopped as it all seemed too easy now, with me constantly spinning around like a top to see 360 degrees. lol

car movement is not such a prob to me, (not that i can steer worth a crap lol) i just try not to cut the wheel too hard left or right which allows faster momentum, avoid off roads at all times and especially those darn sign posts

it is what it is. take a break and come back later to see if its still annoying, theres a great game here if you can get used to it
Nothing sluggish. You should just put it into your reflexes: "strange sound" = "retreat". Just walking, no running.

As you retreat, you can evaluate heading direction, zombie difficulty and fight options.
So long you don't stay in place and immediately, instantly start backpedaling, you will be safe.

After you memorized this reflex into your neurones, learn to use ctrl to do backwalking. Still, dont recommend applying it when initial phase of retreating though, as you don't see your heading direction and it should be clear.

I currently have 4k+ zombies killed, ending the winter and not even once bitten, just to give you the scale of background I am talking about.
never heard of backwalking and using ctrl to do it, will open a game and give it a try, thanks!
