Played PW 1 and enjoyed it, up until the 2 or 3rd last level when I apparently ran out of lives and had to start over from scratch.

Can anyone tell me if that system has been removed from the sequel? Or is it still there?

System is gone, it's just a bog standard save/quicksave system, if you die you load.
