Project Eden offers 3 graphics modes:
1.) 4:3
2.) Widescreen - Letterbox
3.) Widescreen - Anamorphic

If I use my LCD's native resolution, it works at 4:3 but is much too "zoomed in" for my liking. Besides the nostalgia factor of reminding me of how I played this game on an old CRT when it came out, 4:3 doesn't do anything for me.

Anamorphic works but it squishes the characters, turning the circular "radar" display in the lower-right into a steep oval and making Carter look slimmer than Minoko.

Letterbox has everything in the correct proportions but it wastes so much screen space.

How can I get bona fide 16:9 & 16:10 support in this game?
Don't use the 16:9 modes, just set the resolution to your monitor's native (1680x1050, 1920x1200...) and the aspect ratio to 4:3, and it will work perfectly, without stretching or black bars.

It's also described in this guide (Sorry, can't post links yet):

"Anyway, the "1920x1080 4:3" looks like a Hor+ version of "1600x1200 4:3," correct HUD and everything, so it would seem like the best solution for this game is to simply bump up the resolution and not mess with the other settings."

Edit:
Now I see that you actually set your res to native and the aspect ratio to 4:3. Not sure what "too zooomed in" looks like on your end, but it looks perfect here with these settings. The FOV looks right, the HUD isn't stretched or misaligned... See the attached images.

Hope this helps.

Is there a way to like reset the default settings in Eden? I ran by mistake the 16:9 and now my monitor goes to black and says "Input not supported" every single time i run the game.

For me, I can see more of the surrounding level on 16:9/Anamorphic than I can at 4:3, at the same resolution.

It's as if the camera is further back from Carter's shoulder for me when I'm in widescreen.
That sounds like it's a changed Field-of-view, not strictly speaking anything to do with widescreen.
