Well, I bought the pro pinball saga here at gog.com hoping that my favourite pinball games on pc will run perfect on my new pc on windows 7 although I already had these games a lot of years ago but they only work right on win9x. But I am very disappointed when I found out that timeshock is the dos version running onto dosbox. This version don't run very well and the ball movement is jerky and blurred. So I decided to try running my old win9x copy first on my laptop with xp. I was having the same problems as the gog.com version: ball movement choppy and a lot of lag with the sound. Googling a little I found a patch it updates the game to 1.20b version. And this do trick for me. Now the ball moves smooth and no lag sound anymore, at least on my laptop with xp. Today I will test this on windows 7 and I will comment the result here.
So if anyone wants this update I could attatch the file here (if I don't break any rule of the forum of course) or upload to any sharing server.
I will test brusa and fantastic journey today. I hope they will work better becasue they are windows native versions.
EDIT AND REPORTING :)
Well, it seems I did not need to buy timeshock at gog. At least it was only 3 dollars. I will consider this purchase as an online backup of my old cd of timeshock, because my old copy with a win9x version works like a charm on my new pc with windows 7 64 and the update 1.20b I commented above: no jerky movement and no lag of any type. And no need of dosbox of course. Even without configuring any compatibility option at the executable properties unlike brusa an fantastic journey. The other tables are working without any problem on my win7 64 but here I had to tweak the compatibility options tab a little.
So I strongly recommend to gog.com team to update the installation setup with a win9x version and the latest update patch.
So it's time to be the master of time :)

Can you post the patch to the game? Or give us a link to it?

Try it! :)
Remember to update your windows version to 1.07 prior to update to this version. It's only an executable, make a backup of your 1.07 version before.
I advise you that this is an unofficial patch. Read the readme. But it works like a charm.
At author's page there are refferences to 1.20b versions of brusa and fj but i can't find any
working link. I will e-mail the author.
Edit:
More googling :)
I found this at pcpinball.com. It is an old pinball related web. This is the updated unnoficial 1.20b version for brusa, timeshock and fj.
Worth a try :)

For no-cd patching to this versions you should try this :)

This guy is a crack :)
Remember you have to own the original games to use this patches.

Hi
I'm having the same problem with Timeshock on my Vista Laptop. The ball movement is jerky. The other Pro Pinballs (FJ and BRUSA) are working fine. I also own the original CD of Timeshock, I installed it and patched it to the 1.20b version. With this patch indeed, the game runs smooth. But with this method, I always have to put the CD in my CD-Rom for playing...
So I ask the GOG team to update their installation files with the 1.20b patch, so that I can play the game smoothly without putting the CD in my laptop. The user twsh has already posted a working link to the patch. Attention, it's the first link and there are two 1.20b patches inside, the no_cd patch and the original 1.20b patch.
EDIT: Nevermind.

Hey, nice being here on GOG forums!
Sorry to unbury this old topic, but I am on need of this!
I was trying to play my Windows version of Timeshock! too, have the 1.07 patch and was wondering if anyone could re-upload that release of the 1.20b patch. You know, there's no more pcpinball.com, neither MU...

Thanks in advance!

I will see if I can find the patches. Sure they are on a dvd backup. When I find them I will re-upload to other sharing servers.

Greetings.

Edit:

Well, it is done. I found them. This is the new link:
http://www.4shared.com/rar/YVuHBH1d/file.html

This are the 1.20b executables for every pro pinball released. This exes are expecting a cd into your reader so I added a nocd patches if you don't own the original cd. But because you bought this games at gog, when you apply the patches there would not be any difference between the original release and gog release.
Also you must apply the prior patches for timeshock, brusa and FJ, because this patches add some new dat files. If you don't have this patches I can upload them too.

Enjoy the best pinball sim for pc. :)

Thanks for sharing the 1.20b Versions!
I dunno if it's the OS I'm using (Win 7 x64) or if it's the Timeshock 1.07 patch I had, but the game menu interface is clearly "speedy"; the game plays fine but the menu goes too fast. Is that normal?

Anyways, could you please upload the Pro Pinball games' patches you have, too?
That deserve at least a try. :)

Thanks again!

Hi there, sorry for the long time to this reply. New home, a little child, work, problems.....
I will upload them asap. I experienced this annoying fast menus at config too. I don't know how to avoid that problem. At least it is not at gameplay.

Greetings.
I was having a lot of trouble with this but here is what worked. I copied Timeshock 1.20b to the GOG install folder. I copied wgame, winst, Picn13.dll and Picn1113.dll from one of the other GOG Pro Pinballs into Timeshock. I also had to apply the CD patch as after I did this it wouldn't launch without a CD in the drive. After that, the graphics look wonderful, they are smooth, and everything is like the other two games on GOG. But it left one big problem. There is no music! I found another thread talking about the lack of music because the original came with it on CD but GOG/DOSbox uses some kind of mounted image to get around that. Is there a way to mount the music disc image in the GOG installation folder so that it will play in the game? I tried mounting it with WinX and it doesn't seem to work (after changing the .gog and .inst extensions to bin and cue respectively)

Thanks, Kevenly! Your method worked perfectly and I managed to get Timeshock's music working in Windows 7 x64. Unfortunately, for that you need the original CD or an image of the original CD with audio tracks mounted in Daemon Tools/Virtual CloneDrive/whatever and the 1.20b Windows executable without the no-CD patch. The .CUE+.BIN image provided with GOG Timeshock DOS version isn't recognized by Windows version, so the whole GOG installation is pretty useless in this situation.
GOG really should think about including the Windows version and some simple CD emulator in their package.
That would be nice. The Windows version is far superior...
(Bumping threads about GOG only having the DOS version of Timeshock)

If you pledge any amount at all to the Timeshock Ultra Edition kickstarter, you'll receive the original Windows version of the game right away.
