I'm not sure I can help you, but I think you should try selecting a different sound device.
If I am not mistaken, your default sound output currently is the HDMI audio of your NVIDIA card (meaning that the audio is coming from your graphics card, along with the video stream): the game seems to have a problem with the "NVIDIA High Definition Audio" driver, hence my idea of selecting another sound device.
In other words, you should connect your sound device (headphones, speakers or whatever you use) to the audio output of your motherboard, modifying the mixer setting accordingly, if needed (i.e. setting the "Realtek Digital Output" as the default sound playback). Then you can try running the game.

I have already tried it with normal speakers and switched to the right device. It has no effect, no matter what device I try to use and no matter what setting I try, I get this error message and have no sound output. I do not understand the problem.
