Hi,

Has anyone got Warrior WIthin to patch to a new resolution?

I'm using the uniws patcher from here:

http://www.wsgf.org/article/universal-widescreen-uniws-patcher

I've been able to get sands of time patched (it looks great) but can't get it to work with warrior within.

I navigate to the folder, but the patch button doesn't become highlighted. When I run a search, it finds the pop2.exe file. but still no joy.

Thanks in advance

POP2.EXE from GOG is compressed with UPX. After installing, get UPX tool from upx.sourceforge.net and run "upx -d POP2.EXE".

UniWS patch will work after that. There's no need to recompress it afterwards.

(Others also recommended downloading "CD-Fixed" exe and replacing it, which would probably have the same result, but I prefer getting free tool from verified source, rather than hunting the deepnets for a crack)

Sir, you are an absolute legend!

Managed to get it up and running at 1920x1080 resolution with your tip above. It looks great.

Also, for all you linux chaps running this patch through wine, I can confirm it works perfectly. I just moved the upx.exe file into the game folder, and started a wineshell from there.

BlackChar - thank you so much!
Greetings,
Would someone teach me of how to decompressed this pop2.exe file?A newbie here...

Download the UPX tool from the link BlackChar provided. Be sure to download the windows version (Win32) you'll get a compressed file. Once uncompressed. copy and paste the pop exe in the same folder as the upx.exe file. While pressing shift do a right click on a blank space in the folder and you'll see that the option "open command prompt" will show. press it and then copy paste the command that BlackChar provided.
I tried but some little screen with options appears and disappears very quicly. Imposible to do anything in my case.

The upx.bat does absolutely nothing and the widescreen fix still doesn't work.

EDIT: never mind, my initial version of this download was missing some files and it works now. Thank you.

Brief background:
This is KakalukiaJay who posted a lot of help in the Ubisoft POP forums.
I only recently downloaded the GOG version of Warrior Within.
I played it through wearing the mask and decided to look for all the artwork chests.

Problem:
I could not get back from the Sacrificial Altar via the "Dahaka's ledge" in the Southern Passage (Present).
The screen resolution would not let me properly land on the ledge to proceed up to the drinking fountain etc.

Solution:
As I had my screen set to 1600x900 resolution when the problem happened, I did the following to solve it.
I, gulp, set my main screen resolution to 1200 x 960.
I then started a new game with the OPTIONS of 1200x960x32.
I played the new profile game up to receiving the Serpent Sword.
A Helping Hand Central Hall (Past)
A Helping Hand Hourglass Chamber (Past)
The Key and The Lock Central Hall.
I immediately went questing to the Sacrificial Altar room to get the artwork chest near the main staircase and went to the Southern Passage room.
I SUCCESSFULLY jumped onto the "Dahaka's ledge", drank from the nearby water fountain, and continued out the various passageways to return to the Central Access Hall.
I will continue to complete the towers, fight Kaileena, etc.

Reasoning:
The game originally worked for me in 2004/2005 and I remember seeing various people over the years having difficulty with screen resolution problems.

Enjoy!
