The loading screen time with denuvo in SSD is horrendously bad, ranging from 1 minute to a little more. Did removing the DRM alleviate that in any way?

I own Prey on both Steam and GOG, and I haven't noticed a significant difference in loading times. They're still very lengthy even in the GOG version. However I haven't directly compared the two versions myself, so I'd be interested in seeing any thorough analyses that dive into this.

Thanks for the input. I did some research and indeed the loading times are much shorter on GOG. This version is superior.

While it does not change the loading screen times, I disabled the starting videos yelling things like "Buy AMD!" and "Look, mom, we coded this!" at me. That was an enourmous speed up for starting the game :D

Changing the extension of the following files in <Gamefolder>\GameSDK\Videos does the trick:
Ryzen_Bumper.bk2
ArkaneLogoAnim_Redux_1080p2997_ST-16LUFS.bk2
Bethesda_logo_anim_white.bk2
LegalScreens.bk2

As for the original question, my loading times hover around 15 to 20 seconds depending on area. That's with a 10 year old box (SATA II SSD, 975ee@4.3GHz, Win7, 24GB RAM).

Very strange. For me it went down frorm 1 minute to 10 seconds with the second screen skip using PRIC

So has there been any update removing the 2nd loading screen on every level, I read about? I've read the 2nd loading screen was from deunvo so it doesn't make sense it's still there, if it was removed.

There is no official update that removes it but there are ways to do it. Use the awesome Prey Interface Customizer mod.
