I know I am a cheat. I am old and lazy, so I want to cheat sometimes. The problem is that the Gog version does not seem to bring up the command console. I have tried all the methods I found my googling, although most seem to think you just have to hit CTRL, ALT, and ~ None of these work. Please tell me if there is a method to get cheats on Gog's version.

Unfortunately, the developers disabled the console for some reason, which is a real pity, I'd loved to use a noclip cheat to explore all the maps... :(
The most you can get is:
-Using "cheat" mods to get free ammo and other things, most of them are on Nexus mods
-Get a Cheat Engine table for Prey (it has god mode, inventory edit, etc). You can get it from here: https://fearlessrevolution.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2331&start=150 the tables for the GOG version of the game and Mooncrash are at the bottom of the page. Note that you'll have to install Cheat Engine to use these tables.

That works for the original Prey (2006) but not for Prey (2017).

Thanks, but I downloaded the one from Moddb.com and it says to put the .pak file in a certain folder, but there is no .pak file (just a folder with a config file). I put the folder i that directory but no difference. Did someone forget to put the .pak file there or am I missing something.

Don't extract. Rename .zip to .pak and place file into '\GameSDK\Precache'.

I found the game not that hard on normal.

But i also looked into one particular cheat which does not work anymore. The one where you replicate resources from your inventory.
