I have tried all the different compatibility modes as suggested by stuff i found while googling around,

I am running on Win7 but regardless of what compatibility mode i choose, it just won't launch at all, all i am getting is a second or 2 of it thinking about it then nada.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Antivirus, firewall, UAC, have you tried it with those disabled?

Try installing DirectX 9 to make sure all necessary older components are properly installed.

The same happens to me, I've tried to run in compatibility mode and have downloaded the direxct9 drivers, still nothing, the game just won't start at all

Ok guys this is for everyone: You will go to the site moddb and search for praetorians.
Here: www. moddb.com/games/praetorians (delete the gap between the www. and moddb for the link to work)
You will download the Praetorians Mods Complex 2.0
You will uninstall and delete any previous installation of the game and make a fresh new installation of the Mods Complex.
After that you will download the Praetorians Videos for Mission and install it.
Run the game in administrator mode and have fun!!

If you still have problems, go to mods complex settings and disable the water texture and try again....

I downloaded the mod, for some reason when I extract I get a .tmp file and can't open it or do anything else. It shows the title "praetorians mod complex 2.1" with a star symbol.
