Weclock: Pot heads also enjoy the beatles, communism, and finger painting, do you think those too are flaming piles of doo doo?

CyPhErIoN: now that was an excellent comment :)
Why, thank you.

i was imagining that in a real life conversation :p
the finger painting did the trick
These games were banned over here in Australia so I'd never got the chance to play it till now. They were cheap so I thought I'd see what the huff was about. Best way I would describe them in one word is, RUBBISH. I reckon I got about 20 minutes into each before my brain hurt too much.
It certainly amazes me what passes for good entertainment for some people. The postal games are poorly coded, poorly executed and just plain awful. The fact that the developer is still in business, doesn't surprise me though, a lot of people accept mediocrity willingly.

yazleb: This is gaming at its lowest form, not most basic, just lowest and most pathetic.
Calm me a grumpy old man I don't care, but if you have a modicum of self respect you'll spend your money on better titles.
I only know a couple people who like this series and they are my friends of which like to smoke the green.
So don't burn your green here if you don't smoke it.

And I love how defensive some people get. These kind of people have 'underdog syndrome' Something relating to how they felt their whole life and any time they see something getting bashed rightfully, they feel they have to champion its cause.
Some people on here take offense to what I've expressed, like my opinion is not valid, as if that which I said is so controversial.
Really Postal games are horse shit and brought negative light to the industry and drag the whole hobby down to low-class peasant TV sitcom levels.

Because you are wrong.
Just because you didn't like the game doesn't mean nobody else should.
I actually played through it and allowed myself to enjoy it. I didn't sit there and analyze the crap out of it like it's supposed to some super-sophisticated game
Postal 2 actually has sound coding with barely any hiccups, the scripts are tight and there level design is functional and fun. The thought behind the titles is amazing as there is countless ways to engage any situation found in the game. personally the game itself is nothing more then a fun diversion.
Id love to see what you think is a "good game coded well"

My thoughts as well. The Postal Series does what it is supposed to. I have the feeling people don't realize it is a satire on America Life not just a shock game. It is rather humorous how it makes you deal with situations though I guess if you are an uptight nutjob this kind of gallows humor might bother you not like I or others who enjoy this game give a shit.

Your opinion is awful. Saying Postal is poorly coded is tantamount to saying that Unreal Tournament 2003 was poorly coded. They are the same engine.
There is quite a lot in Postal 2 *that you just won't get* unless you have lived in the States most of your life.

Your mates are onto something. Pot makes all games better. =]
Although, you have to admit that Postal 2 is not a bad effort for a 12 man dev team with no money. They've got a bit more cash for Postal 3, some more employees, and it's looking to being a good bit classier. It should be out at Easter, you might want to check it out the demo. =]

Has there been any new info/trailers for Postal 3 in the last couple of months? I'm interested in the game, but I haven't really seen anything since E3. And the E3 trailers weren't even about the game.
Actually I think I saw one trailer between then and now, it was about the sewer level or something.

You are an idiot. It's that simple.
Postal is fun and hilarious. Oh and I don't sit around smoking green all day, I am a PhD student (electronics and photonics).
In fact, just the other week in Uni we were all sitting around (not smoking the green, although I'm certainly not averse to that - though clearly you are) discussing the merits of the Postal games. We all decided putting a cat on the end of a gun was one of the funniest gaming moments ever, closely followed by setting fire to helpless civilians and then pissing on them to save their lives.

I think it's supposed to come out in about six months, and there are a few videos at gopostal.com. I don't think there's anything new, though I haven't checked for a while.

A good code shows competence and one thing RWS has is good coders and level designers with a sense of humour. Seriously, has any one even bothered opening up and playing around with the level editor? Their "tips" show the amazing fun they had making this game. I mean, look at the level's signature .FUK file name. They're having fun and I love that in a dev team.
The code is also clear as daylight, as evident of it's clear functionality during the game. Makes any Japanese code look amateurish and unpolished.
