Hi all,

We have uploaded new installers for both Mac and PC that contain a recently updated version of Postal Classic and Uncut. Please download these installers as soon as you can so you can enjoy the fixed game :D

Changelog:


Windows only change log


-Left turn now works correctly when using the keyboard


-Corpses no longer spin on the spot when they have died


Better-behaved game file handling (not writing to install dir, etc),

Windows / Mac change log


-Changed the controls from the arrows keys to the more standard WADS set up.


-OpenGL and Direct3D support. This gives you a more consistent
framerate, and more importantly, it lets you use overlays in games using
chat clients such as Xfire and Raptr, and also makes recording the game
possible using programs like Fraps.


-Much better sound quality


-The right and middle mouse buttons work now and can be configured in
the mouse input menu.


-Basic game controller support


-Lots of bug fixes.

Awesome! I haven't played Postal 1 since the late 90s and had a riot going through it all. Been waiting for the updates to dig into it again, so it should be fun having a trip down memory lane now. Thanks again for supporting such an ancient game!

Especially when you have 7 rows of tabs open in Firefox, each one .25" wide on a 30" monitor for a total of around 700+ web pages open simultaneously. ;oP

Wait a minute. I kind of liked the spinning corpses. So many dead bodies these days just lay around and do nothing. I feel this game was groundbreaking in showing that just because someone is dead doesn't mean they can't break dance! Thumbs down on this fix guys.

I do (AMD FX8350 8-core 4GHz with 32GB of RAM) however firefox is configured to save tabs on exit and restore on startup but to defer loading of pages until they're clicked on so the tabs are physically there but don't actually get loaded until I've clicked on them once so it is kind of like lazy man's bookmarks so to speak of things I want to read later or finish with but don't actually want to keep a permanent bookmark of. It's just got out of hand and past the point of no return. ;oP It can handle it though, just takes a while to load them all mostly due to network latency of downloading all the stuff more than anything, but the browser will only use 1 core anyway and no more than a max of about 3GB due to being 32bit. Hopefully Mozilla will provide Win64 binaries some time in the future. ;oP

I'll be researching some topic for something I'm working on and have anywhere from a few pages to a few dozen open on it, but need to context switch to something else for the time being for example, so I'll leave them open to come back later until I can finish reading/processing/whatever then close them. For example I've got a couple dozen Steamgifts.com pages open waiting for points to accumulate so I can enter some giveaways then close the pages. Similar situation with many other sites. It just gets out of hand quick in today's world of infinite information and distractions. LOL
