You can still play the oh so riveting multiplayer for Postal 2 if so desired. It needs a bit of tinkering first though.

After gamespy went to bust it closed a lot of doors to reach the online segment of certain games. Some for good. Some not. And Postal 2 is part of the latter.

This is a short guide to those who want once again (or for the first time) bash in the glory of winning on Postal 2 multiplayer against the 4 others on the planet who is still playing the game.

First of you probably noticed that the Multiplayer section is removed from the main meny of the game. It because the developers no longer support it. But you can find the mulitiplayer in your folder (presuming you got it from gog. Steam or otherwise I can't guarantee. And I'm not sure the free download version works aswell) under the name 'Share The Pain' in that folder you have another folder named 'System' somewhere in there you should have Postal2MP.

Go ahead and enter the multiplayer if you like wasting your time. Because what you'll see is that when you try too find any servers it's blank, nada, total silence. But they are out there. Few as they may be however.

So secondly we'll try to find those servers and what we need to do is go inside the Postal2.ini file using Notepad (or whatever catch your fancy) and change every line named; 'master.gamespy.com' too this; 'master.333networks.com'. It should be three if I remember it correctly. And then you save.

And technically that is everything you should need to do to find servers yaaay! ^_^

Except for one thing. A lot of servers are using mods and one of those are 'SM Inventory MP'. The servers are kind enough of only sometimes tell you that you need this mod to connect to the server, sometimes they just say 'Connection Failed'. Anyway what you do is either google the before mention mod or you can just use this link ( http://en.postalsite.info/infusions/pro_download_panel/download.php?did=208 ) so download that sucker and then you extract it wherever you want.

In the newly formed SMInventoryMP folder you find other folders with names as 'Animations', 'Maps' so on and on and within them there is files. Place those files inside the matched folders in your general Postal 2 folder. So for example the files in the 'Animations' goes into the Animations folder in your general Postal 2 folder. When all the files are where they are suppose to be then well my dear reader you are ready to experience the forlorn world of Postal 2 multiplayer :)

So yeah that should be all that you need. The servers should provide you with the extra mods/files if so need be. I recommend checking in on weekends. Usually a few playing then.

Before I go out I want to give The_Red_Borsch a shout out. He wrote on this forum how to access the multiplayer. I though that I should make a thread solely on this subject so it would be easier for new people to find out how instead of go necrohunting in and between the threads.
