Hello, I was browsing this forum looking for help with the game crashing 100% of the time on entering the Library. I do not use the Steam version but I thought I'd give any fix a shot.
The game crashes fairly regulary for god knows how many reason. Big deal. Just reload my last save. HOWEVER, the game became impossible to progress since the game would crash on every single attempt to enter the Library on Tuesday.
In some unrelated crash post here, someone had mentioned to set Compatability Mode to WinXP sp3 and Run As Admin, and to REINSTALL using the options as a last resort:
All I did was right-click on the desktop shortcut and set these options. I did not reinstall using the options, I simply did it to the shortcut.
Problem fixed. It's some kind of Direct X issue according to the crash. I have 11 installed but it says to upgrade to 8.
So give this a shot if anyone reading this is haveing repeated DX related crashes.
