When I first played Postal 2 I was surprised to see a shot-n-up with so much freedom and apparent normality in its missions. (buy the milk; buy some napalm...)
I liked it so much I bought the Collector Edition and I was deluded by the weekend that becomes a normal shot-n-up. So lets focus on the original Postal 2.

Everything is lard with improbable episodes that put you in difficult and usually violent situations.

On the other hand I found refreshing that it is well possible to avoid violence and killing in most cases; no-one says you have to steal the money from the bank or start everyday picking up a cop uniform. I personally finished the whole game with 0 kills. It seldom annoying, but possible.

So, my question is: why people insist saying the game is violent? It seems quite the opposite. You are just an average joe that tries to live his life in a gone crazy world.
Indeed, as has been said many a time Postal 2 is only as violent as you are. I enjoy being violent because it is hilarious and honestly some of the missions are just crazy like the Al-Qaeda camp under the mini-mart. Killing Gary Coleman with Petrol and a shovel is priceless as well but never does the game force me to do any of that.

Maybe because no matter what I do, everybody is trying to kill me? The best part is that I just run away from people shooting at me and the cops are trying to arrest *me*. Awful.
Isn't it normal? I mean real life-like?
It's not the SIM's ,...which I would find totally boring. I saw this on You-Tube and love the humor in it. Although don't think I will do much peeing on anything. I love cats,..but I love the cat silencers!
The reason why Postal 2 accumulates outspoken negative feedback from actual gamers is, in my theory, that its concept is falsely advertised and the superlative praises it gets from its cult followers makes people think that it's any good to begin with.

Postal 2 is said to be only as violent as the player is, which is a load of bull considering that at almost every objective a large number of violent crackpots will do their damnest to kill the player, and the player has a higher and higher chance of getting assaulted on the street as the game progresses. There is no payoff in playing a pacifist: it just means that you're making the game harder while abstaining from one of the main features in the game's genre. The gameplay is very poor, the humor is very poor and the general atmosphere of the game is mean-spirited. Why wouldn't someone lash out at the game and its fans after being misled so much about its nature and quality and having paid for such a disappointment?

It must be fun being a boring Moralist. You must truly be the life of the party. The reality is you not being American probably don't get how much of a piss it is taking out of American Culture, History, paranoia, and racism.

Did you read my post at all? It had nothing to do with morals. If you want my message in a compact form to accommodate for your attention span, it's that the game is bad and unsuspecting gamers are tricked to buy it thanks to the undeserved praises it gets from its fans who fail to mention how horrible the gameplay is and think that it's a deep social satire and a test of one's true character when it's not. That results in a backlash.
