Hello, I need help with starting Postal 1 on LinuxMint.

After installing, I tried to start it by typing ./start.sh in the appropriate folder and it gave me the error "something something... postal1 not found", which meant that it would not start the executable in the folder "game", not even when I tried to start it directly, when it would give me the error "file or directory not found".

I then installed the 32bit libs that support recommended, it still doesn't start, but it doesn't give and error message. Terminal output is this:

$ ./start.sh
Running Postal: Classic and Uncut
$

and that's it. It apparently starts it and closes it instantly. I just don't get it.

Thank you in advance!

Did you remember to right click the downloaded file and mark it to be allowed to run as an executive?

Yes, it "runs" the file, but nothing happens.

Anyway, after uninstalling and reinstalling a couple of times hoping that the problem would solve itself, it happened. I'm still curious what the heck was going on, something weird.

Thank you for replying!

P.S. I marked your post as the solution so people wouldn't open the thread for no reason.

Oh, I have had this kind of problems sometimes too, both on Windows and Linux/GNU. Nice of course that it solves itself but you have gained no new wisdom.

Yep. I think maybe the first few times the game failed to detect all the required libraries, that was the only major change in my OS.
