Tried everything I could find.
It automatically is running in win 98/ME compat mode.
Did the DEP disabling on PR2.exe
Tried Wine but getting the Translation Files missing Error.

Anyone got it running on win 10 with current AMD drivers.
Can get it to run without drivers installed though audio is glitching like crazy

Hi,

I made a little guide about that issue on Steam but I cannot paste URLs here since my forum account is relatively new. You can find it on Port Royale 2's Steam Community Hub, under the Guides tab, named "Easy fix for Port Royale 2 on Windows 10".

Hope that will help.

Hi,

i could run Port Royale 2 under win 10 with compatibility mode. But the game freezes if i click on a town. The town view doesn't load and the process in the taskmanager has the status: "no feedback".

My hardware: notebook, i3-3120M CPU, 2x 2,50 GHz, 8gb RAM, Intel HD 4000 graphics and NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M
System: Windows 10 (64 Bit), Directx 12

DirectPlay 12 aktivated and runs properly, PR2 configurator only finds the Intel graphic card HD 4000

NVIDIA setup: 3D settings: NVIDIA GT 740M for PR 2

But the game always runs with the Intel HD 4000 GPU.

I have tried every compatibility mode ( Win 98, XP (SP2, SP3), Win 7, Vista, Win 8 ) but the game always stops/freezes after clicking on a town to view the townside.

I have also tried the settings " Easy Fix for Port Royale2 under win 10" for NVIDIA , which is descrepted above, but it doesn't work.

After starting the game all things work finally, until i try to open the town view.

It seems that something doesn't work by loading the town side.

Does somebody have any ideas?

Thanks and many greeting.

I really should delete the old ones but since some people say they still work for them I haven't delete yet.

You have Intel and it should work better than Nvidia for Port Royale.

This guide should work:

With this there is no need for compatibility or any other setting, just replace the said files and it should be fine.
