I recently installed Populous The Beginning and after installing the 1.03 patch and using POP enhance to get it to run properly in Windows 7 I have gotten it to run.

Unfortunately in the menus and in game the mouse has an awful stuttering problem. It's like the mouse is moving at an incredibly low framerate. THe only fix I've found says I need to edit the registry for HKEY_CURRENT_USER/software/wine/DirectInput/MouseWarpOverride to 'disable'.

My problem is I don't seem to have the a 'wine' directory in 'software' and I have no idea how to get it.

WINE is a WINdows Emulator, such as is used on Linux and Mac, so this is why you don't have that registry folder as you are on Windows 7.

As I don't have Populous: The Beginning and so cannot see where the registry entries are, the best I can suggest is that you do a search in the registry for MouseWarpOverride and see if you can find the key that way.
