I've been playing this awesome game from my childhood for a week now and starting to think it's endless! How many missions are there? I'm playing the "conquest game" mode and beat like 30 or more? missions and still no clue about the story or anything.

I found this mission list and wondering if I have to beat all of them to finish the game?

You dont have to beat all 1000 levels.
Depending on your choices of Upgrading your god the game choses another level for you. As there are no real savegames, that was the solution of "saving" your personal progress.

Did you guys ever manage to progress to high level maps in Populous 1? I am stucked there in level 140 for good, can't outpace the CPU. It is not that much different imho from Populous 2.

From memory (therefore possibly wrong), this game uses the key you enter to generate the level, so even the campaign levels are generated from the save key it gives you.

@Conair2016

I always played these with the cheat codes on, much more fun imho that way.
It's a great game and it was so fun to play the game again after so many years I played it as a kid on my sega genesis, but I had to abandon it when I stuck dead with one level I could not beat for the life, computer AI got ridiculously unbeatable and fast at some point.
