Hi everyone. Just bought the game. However whenever I start the Tutorial or Conquest mode, they ask to identify the shield that represents a world as a Deity Verification Check. Can anyone help out?

Did you try downloading the manual?

They usually had those kinda checks as part of the manual as a primitive DRM.
The manual doesn't have the copy-protection info in it.

However, just hitting Enter does appear to let you into the game, though I can't seem to actually do anything useful. I'm not sure if that's related to this, however.

The tutorial starts paused so, un-pause the game and you can do things. ( its the zzz button ). I am not sure if the copy protection has been disable or not either so I am still waiting for a reply about that.
Thanks for the reply! I hit the pause button (Zzz) in the tutorial but no helpful hints came out. The game does seem to run normally though.
Everything seems to run fine, but I did need to read the manual a few times to actually understand what each button does O.o
Yea this game is like Civilization, a high learning curve. For us oldies. Its just fun. =D

Old Populous did that with the manual. Some even made you type in a word from a page. Great game still. =)

And still others actually made the copy protection part of the "immersion" factor of the game. For instance, Space Quest V had you enter the coordinates of the planets you traveled to that were only to be found in the game manual. Yes, it's easily memorized, copied down, or otherwise relatively easily defeated, but it did make sense within the context of the game -- and looking up coordinates from a galactic map added an additional layer of verisimilitude.that wouldn't have existed with more traditional (and code-munching) DRM.

Just wondering if anyone's figured out how to get past the verification thing? I don't know if it's preventing me from saving or not because I haven't gone past the first world just in case it did because I don't like having to do things 50 times over in a row in games like Populous, I get that's the point but I don't want to have to start from the beginning each time.
Whoa! Bit of a necro going on here. But to answer the question, the Deity Verification is non-functional. You can enter anything or just press enter and it'll skip right through it.

Yeah, that's true but I don't know if that prevents you from saving.

Looked in the manual. Did not find any info on this. I did just hit [enter] and got into the game.

There is a rudimentary save function that does work. It just doesn't list the saves, you need to remember the file name and type it in on loading.

To not have to replay all the worlds, you need to write down the name of the world (or screen capture it) and then type it in when you start a new game.

Hope this helps
