According to Wikipedia, these expansions came out with the games:

Populous (1989)
.Populous: The Promised Lands (1989)
.Populous: The Final Frontier (1989)

Populous II: Trials of the Olympian Gods (1991)
.Populous II: The Challenge Games (1992)

Populous: The Beginning (1998)
.Populous: The Beginning - Undiscovered Worlds (1999)

Are any of these included in the GOG version?

Thanks!

I already own 1 and 2. But I'm considering buying them on GOG if the expanions come with it.

Populous does come with Promised Lands, but due to how the expansion works you have to rename some files to get the other tilesets to be used. It is possible to code the renaming if you know DOSBox and DOS batch commands, but there really ought to be something that does this for you.

Populous The Beginning does come with Undiscovered Worlds, but there are still some users who have issues getting it running on their system. Best advice is to check the details on these forums.

As for Populous 2, I've no idea whether that includes the expansion.

Thanks. I don't mind playing around with Dosbox and renaming files. Is The Final Frontier included too?

According to this:

Final Frontier was Amiga and Atari versions only. It isn't here on GOG.

Here, take a look at this thread (one I started in fact). It details what is needed to get the expansion tilesets to show up in the first game. I also then went on to create a batch script within the DOSBox autoexec to do the file renaming work for me. Bear in mind that I made my own portable installation using the files from within the GOG installer, however, so although very similar it is ever so slightly different, so if you follow my method you may need to adjust the folder structure of the referenced files, but it shouldn't be too difficult if you know your way around the script.

Just looked up the Populous 2 expansion and as far as I can tell, that is NOT included in the GOG release. However, the expansions for 1 and 3 were not present when they were initially released here on GOG, they were added later on, so there is still hope that it could arrive here in due course.

Thank you. That's a very good script. Another solution would be:
_Make 2 separate dosbox.conf files. One would rename the files and load the expansions, the other would not. Make separate shortcuts for them.
_Or even simpler make 2 copies of the game folder and 2 separate shortcuts.

I'll consider getting Populous 1 and 2 (I hope someone can still tell me if the expansion for 2 is included). Definately getting the Pop3.

EDIT:
If as you say 2 comes without the expansion I'll wait for GOG to include it. Already own the expansionless game.
